Welcome to the Nylet website. We hope you will find our mail order service useful, we have been packing products for despatch by post and courier to world-wide destinations since 1958.

Making your order; if you intend to pay using PayPal or credit/debit card, or electronic bank transfer, then please phone or email us with your list. If paying via cheque, postal order or cash then make your order out on our (printable) order form and enclose it with your remittance; you can use your own paper (typed/printed or written) if you wish but please read the order form/requirements/terms.
The preferred way of placing your order is via PHONE or EMAIL; this is quicker for us to process for you and we work out the most economic rate of postage or carriage. Card details should be phoned to us as paper or email is not secure unless details are encrypted. We are here 70% of the day but might be at our work bench or taking another phone call and unable to answer yours; if so then simply leave a voice message and we will return your call when we are free. Any holiday closure dates are to be found on our "contact" page.
Your contact details. Ensure that you give us your FULL address with post town, and postcode, and phone number. If you live abroad then also your zip code and country. Please ensure your address is correct and is recognised by the postal authorities (also carrier/courier). In all cases we also require a contact name & phone number.

Our workload/despatch times will vary week on week as work load fluctuates.

Stock fittings, accessories, tubing; allow 2 to 3 working days from receipt of order to process & pack your paid up order.
IOM SAILS & SAIL RIG KITS - estimated 21 days, sooner if possible.
Other sails from our range of standard designs (manufactured in synthetic material) approx 4 weeks making time (from receipt of order). Note: special sails (to your dimensions/plan) can take longer to make since they are cut individually and are not put into a cutting run.
We rarely have stock of any sails, everything is made specially to order with the trim colour you specify; however occassionally we may have the odd suit, and if so it will be noted in the price list (section F6, 'stock sails').
COTTON SAILS are very much a specialist craft and our workload can vary considerably month on month; at the present moment approx. 12 weeks. We will give you a broad estimate of timescale when you enquire.
We will advise you via email, text or phone, with full details of route etc, just as soon as your order has been despatched.

SENDING PACKETS TO US. If you are returning goods to us or sending sail patterns etc then YOU MUST use our FULL address EXACTLY as it appears on this page below. Failure to include the name "F.Parsons" can result, if post could not deliver due to works being closed at the time, being refused when we attempt to pick up from the Postal Depot in Salisbury. The Post Office may well return item to sender (which has happened on one or two occassions). Items routed via carrier or Courier cannot be accepted without prior agreement.

All stock orders are processed promptly. Goods are securely packed to ensure safe arrival to their destination. Postage/carriage rates (inside the UK) start at a little over two pounds for booklets. All items are despatched by the most economic route at home (UK). Items such as yacht kits, folding stands and mast tubing one metre and longer are despatched via carrier in UK and via air freight to overseas destinations. Items sent abroad such as fittings and sails are routed via air mail post as this is the most economic route.

The process by which every order is logged into our system, a business proceedure followed by our firm for 200 years and very possibly by my 5th gt grandfather who was a Goldsmith in Bond Street, London, nearly 300 years ago. Every mail order, large or small, is entered in one of our three Day Books. Sail orders are written up and numbered in the 6 thousands while all other orders (fittings, rig bags etc) into our general Day Book, currently in the 2 thousands (the numbering sequence reverted to "1" several years ago). Another book is kept in our workshop and orders taken while at our bench carry the prefix "W". Orders are also entered in brief in a computer file and with any payment noted. Payments are entered into the computerised "Ledger" file. When the order is despatched, it is noted in the relevant computer files and the order in the day book is ruled through with the despatch date and route. This cross-referencing rules out errors and helps track orders and especially sail orders which are manufactured at some point after receipt. Day Books have served us well and would have seen service in our firm from 1834 when my great great grandfather started out in business in Derby, and after 1842 in Brighton. Some Day Books (long out of use) survive from the 1970's. A Day Book dated 1873 was regretably lost a couple of decades ago. At the start of the working day the date was entered clearly in black ink, orders were then entered in pencil, and when complete the order was ruled through, there are some things in life that don't change over the centuries!

Terms & Conditions. Returns Policy (by item):
Unwanted Items: Any unwanted fittings or allied parts will be refunded if returned within 14 days, in its original, unopened packaging. This does not apply to special order sails unless there is a fault with them. After speaking with us please include the returns job number within your order.
Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items: If you receive a faulty, damaged or incorrect item from us, we would appreciate a notice from you within five days of receiving the item. Please contact us by phone and we will be able to offer advice on how to resolve your issue. The item(s) should be returned to us in the condition they were received, preferably in the original parcel/wrapping within 30 days. If it is not possible to return the item(s) in the original parcel/packaging they should be suitably packaged to prevent further damage whilst in transit.
Returns Procedure. Faulty items must be returned to us, before we can start the process of replacing them. Items will be examined as soon as possible. Any goods that have been checked and found to be in good order will not be eligible for replacement, and will be returned. In some circumstances, it may be necessary for an item to be returned to the manufacturer (if not our own manufacture). Should these circumstances arise, we will notify you.
